Kebbi windstorm destroys houses, foodstuffs across 10 communities.

From : Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi  A heavy windstorms in Kebbi State has destroyed houses,foodstuffs across 10 communities in the State. The incident which occured in the early hours of Friday Destroyed Houses and Food Storages ,but no live was lost during the incident. It was gathered that the Communities affected by the heavy windstorm included Sambera, Jero, Becinga, Nassarawa, Tunga Soja, Tauken Mage, Tunga Muminu Oro and Ciwan Wanzam in the state.  The windstorm was further reported to have destroyed several homes, food storage facilities and other valuables. The affected residents who confirmed the incident to our reporter ,maintained that ,there was no lost of lives. Meanwhile, as at the time of filling in this report there was no response from the government.

A public commentator in Kano, Sufyan Lawal Kabo, has raised questions over Amnesty International’s recent condemnation of the Kano State Government following the alleged killing of five persons during events surrounding the swearing-in of the state’s new Deputy Governor. In a statement titled Amnesty International Report and my questions to them, Kabo said while no responsible citizen condones violence or loss of life, the international rights group may have acted prematurely by issuing a strong public accusation without what he described as a balanced and verified investigation. Kebbi govt assures RMAFC on data validation exercise.

From : Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi  The Kebbi State government has assured the Federal government, cooperation towards accurate validation of data across all the Local Government Areas in the State. The assurance was disclosed at the heels of a state tour by delegation from Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) on data verification exercise to the State. Governor Nasiru Idris represented by the Deputy Governor Senator Abubakar Umar Tafida stated that the present administration in the state was ready to provide all necessary data and logistics for the successful exercise. He added that members of the State Executive Council and heads of ministries, departments and agencies were present to understand the exercise’s requirements and offer full cooperation. Court orders Police to investigate criminal case filed by Ex-lawmer in Zamfara

From Ahmed Attahir  A Magistrate Court I sitting in Gusau Zamfara State capital has on Wednesday ordered Commissioner of Police to investigate alleged criminal case filed before the court by a former member House of Assembly, Yusuf Alhasan Kanoma, against Mustafa Jafaru kaura ,media aide to Zamfara Governor. The Presiding Judge Murtala Abdullahi refered the case to the Commissioner of Police for thorough investigation. Earlier, when the case came up ,the state Attorney General and Commissioner for justice Abdulaziz Sani,SAN represented by Director litigation ,prayed to the court for transfer of the case to ministry of justice as empowered by provision 211 of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. Kebbi police arrests 47 suspects, recovers arms,ammunition.

From : Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi  The Kebbi state Police Command has arrested no fewer than 47 suspects and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in sustained operations against violent crimes across the state. The state Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Umar Hadejia, made this known on Monday in Birnin Kebbi at a press briefing on the command’s activities and achievements since he assumed duty on Jan. 12, 2026. Mr Hadejia said the command had also established a Violent Crimes Response Unit (VCRU), approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan-Disu, to strengthen rapid response and consolidate gains in the fight against insecurity. He noted that the state had, within the period under review, faced challenges such as armed banditry, cattle rustling, motorcycle snatching and threats from Lakurawa elements along border corridors.
