APC primaries: Shinkafi Appeal against imposition of Senator Sahabi in Zamfara

From Ahmed Attahir  The All Progressives Congress (APC) ,Zamfara north Senator aspirant Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has written an appealed to the committee on primary election against imposition of Senator Sahabi Alhaji Yau as senatorial sole candidate of the zone. In a letter personally signed by Dr sani Abdullahi Shinkafi to the chairman committee APC Senate Primary election panel, available to newsmen on Thursday evening, was also copied to Professor Nentawe Yilwatda National Chairman All Progressives Congress (APC). The letter reads in parts, "I hereby wish to forward letter of appeal against imposition of the Senator Sahabi Alhaji Yau and Exclusion in Zamfara North Senatorial district Primary election by the Hon minister of state for defence, past Governor Senator Ahmed Rufai Sani ( Yariman Bakura) ,Alhaji Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi and present Governor Dauda Lawal in Zamfara State.  "It became necessary for me to request for your immediate intervention against this impuni...

APC primaries: Senator Yari absent at reconciliations,consensus meeting in Zamfara.

From Ahmed Attahir  The Former governor of Zamfara state and serving senator Abdul'aziz Yari Abubakar has shunned APC reconciliation meeting held in Gusau, ahead of national assembly primaries in the state.  The meeting held between monday and Tuesday was aimed at uniting the party's supporters in Zamfara state . It was conveyed on the instance of governor Dauda Lawal with three former governors in attendance,that included Senator Sani Ahmed Yarima, Mahmuda Shinkafi and Minister of state for defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, and two serving senators, Sen Sahabi Yau Kaura and Sen Ikra Aliyu Bilbis.  Group of party's supporters at the venue of the reconciliation meeting commended the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in bringing peaceful resolution of the consensus among all aspirants.  They expressed their appreciation for the timely intervention and support given to Zamfara APC to resolved their differences amicably.  Others in attendance include all se...

  From Ahmed Attahir  A Chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), and senator aspiring in Zamfara north Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has raised concerned over National Assembly primaries in the state, saying it's an affirmation of anointed candidates and political banditry in the state.  Addressing newsmen on Tuesday in Gusau, Dr Shinkafi described the process as “imposition of candidates and political banditry, alleging that Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, arrived in Zamfara with a private jet alongside past and present governors to enforce the directive. According to Shinkafi, Matawalle and the governor told aspirants that President Bola Tinubu had ordered all senatorial aspirants to withdraw for serving senators ahead of primaries. “This undemocratic order, if actually made by Mr President, does not comply with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026,” Shinkafi said.
