APC primaries : Court begins sitting on alleged irregularities in Zamfara

From Ahmed Attahir  A Federal High Court Gusau,has began sitting on All Progressives Congress (APC) on alleged primaries election irregularities case, filled by aggrieved Zamfara North senatorial aspirant Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi in the state.  When the case came up for mentioning on Tuesday, the proceedings could not advance beyond mention due to the absence of INEC and APC as defendants. The Presiding Judge, Justice Hassan Dikko adjourned the case to June 25, 2026, for further mentioning. Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi filled case against Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC), APC, and Sahabi Yau Kaura on alleged irregularities during APC National Assembly primaries in Zamfara north. FRSC killings: Police arrests seven suspects in Kebbi.

From : Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi  The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested seven suspected bandits during ongoing intelligence-led operations targeting criminal networks operating within the Soda Forest axis and adjoining border communities in Bagudo Local Government Area. In a press statement made available to Journalists by the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of Kebbi State Command, Bashir Usman stated that following intensified security operations aimed at dismantling banditry networks and disrupting the logistics and support structures sustaining criminal activities in the area. Acting on credible intelligence, Mobile Police operatives along the Illo–Lolo Road intercepted three suspects travelling on a Haojue motorcycle from the Soda Forest area towards border communities. Kebbi Gov. extends retirement age for Medical, Veterinary Doctors.

From : Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi  The Executive Governor of Kebbi State Comrade Nasiru Idris has approved the extension of the mandatory retirement age for medical and veterinary doctors in the State Civil Service. Under the new policy, the retirement age for these professionals has been increased from 60 to 65 years, while the length of service has been extended from 35 to 40 years, whichever comes first. The landmark decision was reached during the State Executive Council meeting held on Monday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. This was disclosed to journalists by the Honourable Commissioner for Establishment, Pension and Training, Hon. Auwal  Manu Dogondaji. Kebbi Insecurity: Gov. Idris orders review of security strategies.

According to Abdulllahi Idris Zuru the Governor special adviser on communication and strategy said the directive followed an emergency security meeting convened at the weekend at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, to assess recent attacks and strengthen response measures. The meeting was attended by the Brigade Commander 9 Brigade, the Commissioner of Police, Director of State Security Service, Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commander of the Vigilante Group, as well as Controllers of Customs and Immigration Services. The emir made the call on penultimate days during a meeting with district heads, village heads and ward heads at his palace in Argungu. Alhaji Mera stressed the need for communities to intensify intelligence gathering and promptly share useful information with security agencies to enhance efforts at tackling insecurity. He advised residents to collectively mobilise resources to procure government-approved weapons for lawful self-defence. From Ahmed Attahir  The All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara north senatorial aspirant, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi,has explained why he filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Gusau challenging North Senatorial District primary election held on May 19, 2026 in the state.  He lamented that, there was no APC primaries election in zamfara north district. In the suit, the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as defendants and seeks to nullify the declaration of Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura as the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.
