Kebbi Gov mourns passing of Assembly Speaker Usman Zuru

From : Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi  Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has received with profound shock, deep sorrow, and a heavy heart the painful news of the passing of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru (Lifiddan Zuru), describing his death as a tragic and monumental loss to Kebbi State and the entire nation at large. The late Speaker passed away on Monday, 6th April, 2026, at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been receiving treatment following a prolonged illness. His death was officially confirmed by the Clerk of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Suleiman Shamaki. In an emotion-laden condolence message, Governor Idris said he was devastated by the loss of a trusted ally, a committed lawmaker, and an outstanding leader whose devotion to duty, humility, wisdom, and dedication to the service of Kebbi State distinguished him as a true patriot. 2026 Hajj: Kebbi flags off distribution materials to intending Pilgrims.

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has flagged off the distribution of Hajj materials- including uniforms, bags and hijabs to intending Pilgrims drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, as part of ongoing preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise. The flag-off ceremony, held at the premises of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency in Birnin Kebbi, underscores the state government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the welfare, comfort and seamless movement of intending pilgrims to the Holy Land. Governor Idris, who performed the symbolic presentation to the Hajj Guide of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, stated that the gesture fulfills  his administration’s promise to continuously improve the welfare package for Kebbi pilgrims and officials engaged in the annual spiritual exercise. Electricity supply: Kebbi state Govt., KEDCO signs MoU.

From : Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi  The Kebbi State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) in far away United Kingdom aimed at improving electricity supply across the State. In a press statement made available to newsmen in Birnin-Kebbi on Thursday by Alhaji Yahaya Serki, the SA media to the Governor explained that this significant development was disclosed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, who is part of the Kebbi State Government delegation attending the crucial Kaduna Electric Energy Summit taking place in London, United Kingdom.
