From Ahmed Attahir  The First Lady of Zamfara State, Her Excellency Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has officially flagged off the 2026 Ramadan Food Distribution Programme, marking the third consecutive year of sustained humanitarian support to vulnerable households across the state. The flag-off ceremony, held in Shinkafi Local Government Area, signaled the commencement of the distribution of 50,000 Ramadan food packages across all 147 wards in Zamfara State. The initiative revealed the administration’s commitment to ensuring that vulnerable families observe the holy month with dignity and comfort. In a statement issued by the press secretary office of the first lady , Zamfara state Rabi Yusuf said each package contains carefully selected essential food items, including 20kg of rice; 5kg each of beans, sugar, millet and maize; as well as salt, vegetable oil, spaghetti, and wrappers for women. Humanitarian group launches Iftar meals for 20,000 vulnerables in North West

From Ahmed Attahir  A Humanitarian Organization "AL-Sadaqah Jariyah" has launched a large-scale Charity Food Donation Program aimed at supporting over 20,000 individuals as part Ramadan welfare across North west.   Speaking during the formal distribution held today in Gusau, Zamfara state,the Executive director (Trustee Chair) of Al-Sadaqah Jariya Dr. Fatima Abdulkadir disclosed that the initiative was to distribute essential grains to over 2,000 house holds and provide iftar meals to over 20,000 individuals across the North West during Ramadan period. A statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations 8 Division, Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, the incident occurred as GOC 8 Division and Commander Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, was en route to visit frontline troops deployed in the state. Bandits Attack : Kebbi Police beef-up security,urges public to report suspicious movement.

The State Police Command in collaboration with the Military and other security agencies, additional personnel and operational assets have been deployed, and sustained area domination patrols to maintain stability. In a press statement made available to newsmen by Police Spokesman Bashir Usman said the Command deeply regrets the loss of thirty-three innocent lives and extends its heartfelt condolences to the families affected and the entire Arewa community. Kebbi Boat mishap claims 14 lives in Yauri

From : Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi  No fewer than 14 persons, mostly women, lost their lives following a boat mishap in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The accident occurred in Gumbi community in Gumbi Ward, when a boat conveying over 100 passengers capsized while returning from a wedding ceremony. An eyewitness account said the passengers were returning from Gwarzo village in Ngaski Local Government Area, where they had accompanied a bride to her husband’s residence, when the incident happened. "A breakdown of the casualties showed that 13 women and one child died in the mishap, while others were rescued. All the deceased were buried the same day in accordance with Islamic rites," the source said.
