From Ahmed Attahir  A Humanitarian Organization "AL-Sadaqah Jariyah" has launched a large-scale Charity Food Donation Program aimed at supporting over 20,000 individuals as part Ramadan welfare across North west.   Speaking during the formal distribution held today in Gusau, Zamfara state,the Executive director (Trustee Chair) of Al-Sadaqah Jariya Dr. Fatima Abdulkadir disclosed that the initiative was to distribute essential grains to over 2,000 house holds and provide iftar meals to over 20,000 individuals across the North West during Ramadan period. The State Police Command in collaboration with the Military and other security agencies, additional personnel and operational assets have been deployed, and sustained area domination patrols to maintain stability. From : Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi  No fewer than 14 persons, mostly women, lost their lives following a boat mishap in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The accident occurred in Gumbi community in Gumbi Ward, when a boat conveying over 100 passengers capsized while returning from a wedding ceremony. An eyewitness account said the passengers were returning from Gwarzo village in Ngaski Local Government Area, where they had accompanied a bride to her husband’s residence, when the incident happened. "A breakdown of the casualties showed that 13 women and one child died in the mishap, while others were rescued. All the deceased were buried the same day in accordance with Islamic rites," the source said.
