From : Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi  Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has received with profound shock, deep sorrow, and a heavy heart the painful news of the passing of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru (Lifiddan Zuru), describing his death as a tragic and monumental loss to Kebbi State and the entire nation at large. The late Speaker passed away on Monday, 6th April, 2026, at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been receiving treatment following a prolonged illness. His death was officially confirmed by the Clerk of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Suleiman Shamaki. Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has flagged off the distribution of Hajj materials- including uniforms, bags and hijabs to intending Pilgrims drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, as part of ongoing preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise. The flag-off ceremony, held at the premises of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency in Birnin Kebbi, underscores the state government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the welfare, comfort and seamless movement of intending pilgrims to the Holy Land.
