Fight Against SGBV: NGO urges Zamfara communities to address harmful cultural norms practices.

Ahmed Attahir  A Non Governmental Organization (NGO),based in Zamfara State "Voluntary Aid Initiative" (VAI) has sensitized four communities on community-based initiatives to address harmful cultural norms and practices that promotes Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in the state. The sensitisation took place in Tsafe, Bilbis, Birnin Magaji and Nasarawa Godel communities under Birnin Magaji and Tsafe local government areas of the state. It was conducted by the NGO Voluntary Aid Initiative (VAI) in collaboration with Ukaid funded organisation "International Alert" under a project Promoting Stability, Access to Justice and Accountability. Cholera hotspot: ACReSAL to construct 6 Solar powered boreholes,Watchmen Accommodations in Zamfara community.

Ahmed Attahir  The Zamfara state Agro  Climatic    Resilience  in Semi Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project has move to construct 6 solar powered Boreholes with accomodations of watchmen in the selected cholera hot spots community in the state. The project is also aim to support the livelihood in the benefiting community in the area. This was disclosed on Wednesday in Gusau,by the State Acting project coordinator (SPC) Nasiru Bello during the ceremony of the agreed action on bidding process of zamfara state ACReSAL project held at Project office in the state. Ahmed Attahir The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has distance itself from an audio leaked by Anas Sani Anka of thunder blowers online media aimed to tarnish the good image of the party,saying he is not card  carrying member nor a good supporter of the APC in the state. Zamfara : Speak Against Sexual,Gender Base Violence - NGO urges Marginalized Community

 Ahmed Attahir  A non governmental organization (NGO) based in Zamfara state called "Voluntary Aid Initiative"(VAI) has urged marginalized Community to come out and speak against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) for access to justice in the state. The Executive Director of the NGO, Musa Umar made the call in Gusau at the quarterly review meeting of CSOs network with local community and security agents in the state. The meeting was Organised by the VAI in collaboration with UKAid funded NGO and International Alert. The participants of the meeting included journalists,representatives from security agencies,CSOs, people with special needs and community members in the state.
