Zamfara NAWOJ lauds military fight against insecurity.

The Nigeria Assassination of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Zamfara state chapter has lauded the efforts of the Nigeria Army in their proactive measures of tackling insecurity in the state,North West and country at large.
This was disclosed by the Zamfara state chairperson of NAWOJ Comrade Jamila Musa Kanoma during a courtesy visit to commander 1 Brigade, Nigeria Army Gusau Brigadier General Timothy Opurum on Monday in Gusau,the state capital.
The Zamfara chairperson of NAWOJ Jamila Musa kanoma said they were at commander 1 Brigade to seek for his support and cooperation with the aim of promoting and protecting the interest of women and children in the state through sensitization and education.
NAWOJ urged the military not to relent in their efforts to eradicate banditry and other form of criminality in the state.
She highlighted some achievements of Brigadier General Timothy opurum that included his pivotal role played in restoring peace at Southern Kaduna and his successful efforts in rescue of some chibok girls while he was in Kaduna and Borno states.
"As commander 1 Brigade Gusau, Zamfara state,we are aware of your unrelented efforts to ensure the restoration of peace in Zamfara and beyond ".
According to her, banditry mostly affect women and children which she said NAWOJ is ever ready to provide necessary assistance to those effected by the menace,with the support from authority and relevant wealthy individual in the state.
"We want to see that women and children become good ambassadors to our society through moral upbringing from the parents,guardiance and authority concern ". She prayed.
"Fighting Insecurity is challenge that need collaborative efforts from everyone, it's a challenge that all hands should be on deck to rescue our people which mostly affects our women and children". She said.
In his remarks, the commander 1 Brigade Gusau, Brigadier General Timothy opurum commended journalists in the state for their supports in the fight against insecurity in the state.
Brigadier General Timothy opurum assured of giving maximum support and cooperation to Journalists where necessary.
"Insecurity is a challenge in zamfara which military would not relent in their efforts to eradicate all form of criminality". He assured.
