2023 Maru/Bungudu : Zamfara Emirs calls for traditional rulers role in Nigerian Constitution.

The Emirs of Maru/Bungudu Federal constituency in Zamfara state has called on candidate of  All Progressives Congress (APC) House of representatives Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu to consider inclusion of traditional rulers role in the constitution, when elected come 2023.


The traditional rulers also,called on the APC candidate to consider legislation on measures to curtail rising insecurity and avoid political thuggery in the constituency and state at large.


This was stated Today when  elders Consultative Committee for APC candidate of Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency  Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu
led by the Chairman Bashar Bello Aukie during a visit to Emirs of Kotorkoshi, Maru and Dansadau, Alhaji Garba Ahmad Umar Mai Kotorkoshi, Banaga Alhaji Abubakar Gado Maigari and Sarkin Kudu Alhaji Garba Muhammad Atu II at their respective palaces in the state.


The Royal fathers pleaded that When elected, Zannan Bungudu should  focus on security as insecurity became a bottleneck for socio economic development in the area.


They further called on Zanna Bungudu to Consider legislation for inclusion of traditional rulers in governance, "Constitution shall accurately spell out the role of traditional rulers in governance".they stressed. 


The emirs Condemned the ways things were handled nowadays citing examples with the way aliens settles in various communities without the consent of traditional institutions,"These triggered and multiplies the spate of insecurity". 


The traditional rulers urged politicians to avoid engaging youths in political thuggery and unrest, instead they should be engaged  into useful ventures including empowerment for self reliance and rehabilitation programmes.


They assured to support the candidate to succeed in view of his sterling qualities and track record of past representation.


Earlier on,the committee chairman disclosed that they constituted to make consultation to stakeholders across the constituency in which traditional rulers inclusive.


He said the committee was also mandated to Sought for fatherly support and advise to the APC  candidate Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu.


The committee members consist of  politicians who were drawn from Bungudu and Maru Local Government Areas in the state.

Only unemployed characters interested in NNPP logo change - N/W Chairman

Don't politicize Community Protection Guards - Marafa warns Zamfara Gov.

Ahmed Attahir Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa has warned Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara state not to politicize the newly established community protection Guards (CPG'S) in the state. Marafa gave the warning in an interview with newsmen at his home town Yandoton Daji on Tuesday evening shortly after the funeral prayer of one Magaji Lawali a closed alley to the senator who was allegedly torture to died by CPG's in the state.
