Zamfara Anti-thuggery begins recruitment,receives 6,700 applications

The Zamfara State chairman committee on Anti-thuggery,drugs abuse and other related crimes,Bello Bakyasuwa has disclosed that about 6,700 applicants has applied for recruitment as personnel into the committee in the state.
He explained that the state Government has approved the recruitment of 2,000 personnel into the anti-thuggery outfit in the state.
Addressing newsmen in Gusau, Bello Bakyasuwa revealed that the recruitment and screening exercise for the applicants has since commenced in the state.
According to him, Governor Bello Matawalle has approved the recruitment of 2,000 personnel that comprises of males and females into the anti-thuggery outfit in the state.
“We received applications from about 6,700 candidates comprising males and females seeking the job and we are currently on the recruitment exercise".
He further revealed that apart from the 2,000 personnel to be recruited,the committee would also recruit additional volunteers in the state.
“This is part of the state government’s commitments to expand the activities of fighting against thuggery, drug abuse and other related crimes across the 14 local government areas of the state.”
The anti thuggery committee chairman said that after the recruitment and subsequent induction training, the personnel would be deploy across the local government areas in the state.
He maintained that the committee would work to ensure that they rid the state of any form of thuggery, drugs abuse in all nooks and crannies in the state.
