Election results: Remain calm,wait for announcement from Electoral Umpire --- CG NSCDC

The Commandant General (CG) of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has called on electorate to remain calm and wait for announcement of final results from Electoral  umpire,described electorate as  elections machineries. 

He described the overall conducts of last Saturday's Presidential and National Assembly elections held in Zamfara state as peaceful and commendable.

The Commandant General of Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps who was represented by Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Magaji Shehu Tunga made the statement while Speaking with newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.

ACG Magaji was in the state on election monitoring mission on behalf of the Commandant General.

He called on the electorate whom he described as election  machineries to remain calm as they await pronouncement of the final results by the the electoral umpire. 

He described the general conduct of the election in the state as very encouraging and gave kudos to the Zamfara state  chairman of  the election security committee for a job well done.

Tunga noted that he went round  polling units during the election, saying the atmosphere was peaceful and calm, except for minor skirmishes which were properly tackled by the security operatives.

He commended election officials in the state for  firmly officiating the election, especially their determination to see that no single voter was disenfranchised.
