Zamfara APC Condemns alleged attempt to sack Islamic Tenets by Gov.Dauda

All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara state has condemned Governor, Dauda Lawal Dare action of shutting the Council of Ulama office situated in the Government House in the state.

The state APC alleged that it's a direct affront on Islam,the will of the people and sabotage to the gradual but progressive institutionalization of the Sharia legal system in the state.

In a statement issued by the Zamfara APC  publicity secretary Mallam Yusuf Idris said ,Office of the Council of Ulama is the highest ranking Islamic body in the state that was established since 1999 to ensure peaceful coexistence among all people including non Muslims in the state.

"Council of Ulama guarantee the sustenance of good upbringing and advice government at all levels over all issues so that there will be good governance".

The statement reads in part:These are part of the roles being played by the Council, which existed through an established law from the state House of Assembly.

"Surprisingly, the governor felt the office of his wife which does not have any assigned legal responsibility and may not be contributing much to societal and moral growth is more important than the legally recognised body which is beneficial to the people".

"The governor did not even look at the implications of shutting down the office nor did he consider giving the Council another space as he was blinded by bitterness against his predecessor, former Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle who Dauda Lawal Dare thought established the Council."

"This situation is just like the present administration under Mr. Dare does not care about the people's faith in the Muslim dominated state of Zamfara and is indirectly telling the Muslim community to look elsewhere as his government will have nothing to do with them.

"We learned that all the Islamic textbooks in the Council library, furniture provided by Bello Mohammed Matawalle have been evacuated to another place outside government house as contract for the renovation of the edifice to the tune of 500 million naira has been awarded by the governor for the comfort of his wife.

"As we sue for peace as a political party and as people with rights in the state, we are calling on the governor and his government to immediately rescind this decision and give his wife and family members another place even within the government house because former Governor Matawalle has provided enough houses and offices within the government house".

Only unemployed characters interested in NNPP logo change - N/W Chairman

Don't politicize Community Protection Guards - Marafa warns Zamfara Gov.

Ahmed Attahir Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa has warned Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara state not to politicize the newly established community protection Guards (CPG'S) in the state. Marafa gave the warning in an interview with newsmen at his home town Yandoton Daji on Tuesday evening shortly after the funeral prayer of one Magaji Lawali a closed alley to the senator who was allegedly torture to died by CPG's in the state.
