Bungudu/Maru : Appeal Court reaffirms Hon.Abdulmalik of APC, Dismissed PDP appeal.

Appeal court, sitting in Abuja has dismissed the appeal filed by Shehu Ahmad of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging the victory of Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Bungudu a member of All Progressive Congress ( APC), representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in Zamfara state.

During it's sitting on Wednesday,the appeal Court upheld the recent judgement by election tribunal which affirmed the election of Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Bungudu in the 2023 general election in the state.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the appeal court verdict, Counsel to the defendant Barrister Auwal Ahmad Nahuce said the appeal was dismissed for lack of merit.

According to him all the 3-man panel of judges agreed that the appeal lack merit and therefore joined same opinion and dismissed the appeal filed by Shehu Ahmad of PDP.

Barrister Nahuche explained that the plaintiff Shehu Ahmad of PDP approached the appellate court challenging the judgement of the election tribunal passed  on the 6th of September 2023.

According to him,part of the appellant prayers included the need to declare the elections of Maru/Bungudu inconclusive, alleged over voting in 39 polling units and inability to conduct election in 32 other polling units in the constituency.

Responding over the appeal court verdict, the defendant and Member House of Representatives for Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency Hon Abdulmalik Zubairu said the judgement reflected the aspirations and prayers by constituents.

 Hon.Zubairu Bungudu thanked Allah SWT for the victory,"God in his wisdom has made it happen the way it happened",he thanked the Almighty.

He appreciated his constituents, stakeholders and party faithfuls for the concern and their prayers,assured to continue justifying the confidence reposed in him.

"As legal matters were put to an end and buried from today, I assured to concentrate fully on my representation in order to meet the yearnings of the entire populace of my constituency".

 He maintained that some of the projects executed within his 100 days were sponsored of 22 bills before the green chamber which many among the bills have scaled first and second readings
