Zamfara govt assures support to ACReSAL projects implementation.

The Zamfara state government has assured of full  support to the implementation of projects activities of Agro Climatic  Resilience in Semi Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) in the state.

This was disclosed by the commissioner of environment and solid mineral represented by the permanent secretary Alhaji Garba Altine Dauran during sensitization visit to Emirs and relevant traditional rulers for effective implementation of projects captured in the state.

The permanent secretary Alhaji  Garba Altine Dauran assured that ACReSAL project was aimed to improve living standards of community in the state.

Dauran maintained that ACReSAL projects has all the support and encouragement from the state Governor with adequate  backing for the implementation of the projects in the state.

Earlier on,the projects sensitization tour was embarked with visit to Gusau and Kaura Namoda Emirate councils on Tuesday for relevant stakeholders and traditional rulers to be alert to the projects of ACReSAL in the state.

In his remarks, the state project coordinator (SPC )Alhaji Nasiru Bello said  the captured project was aim to support the livelihood in the benefiting community earmarked in the area.

Nasiru Bello explained that ACReSAL is a project initiated by the federal government through world bank assistance with aimed to address critical challenge of regional desertification and landscape management in 19 states and Abuja.

The  state SPC further disclosed that the programme was to ensure more sustainable future food and water security in changing climate,"it was also aimed to support communities with improved capacity and investments to improve sustainable livelihoods". He added.

"The Zamfara State project,( ACReSAL) would support livelihood of the communities captured  to benefit from the project in the area of water,tree planting, desert encouragement and improve farming activities".he stressed

Responding to the visit,the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello OFR  has called on ACReSAL management team to leave above expectation, remain steadfast and Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the Emirate council for the successful implementation.

Also,the Emir of Kaura Namoda Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad represented by Alhaji Nasiru Umar Marafa assured of given the ACReSAL projects implementation in the Emirate full support and encouragement.

Don't politicize Community Protection Guards - Marafa warns Zamfara Gov.

Ahmed Attahir Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa has warned Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara state not to politicize the newly established community protection Guards (CPG'S) in the state. Marafa gave the warning in an interview with newsmen at his home town Yandoton Daji on Tuesday evening shortly after the funeral prayer of one Magaji Lawali a closed alley to the senator who was allegedly torture to died by CPG's in the state.
