Court Verdict :LG autonomy will bring accountability -- Ex- IPAC Chairman Danmasani

A former Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Chairman in Zamfara state Hon.Sani Yusuf Danmasani has expressed his support to the supreme Court verdict on financial autonomy of local government,says Apex court has break the jinx,Local Government will no longer be beggars to the state Governors,and there may be accountability.
Speaking in an interview Hon. Sani Danmasani a chieftain of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) said the judgement on local government autonomy is another victory for democracy to local government workers.
According to him,he was behind NULGE members in the state,who appreciated the verdict said they were more comfortable now as state Governors will no longer have the power to dissolve democratically elected Local Government chairman and his councilors.
"I'm now more comfortable with the Nigerian democracy,govern for the people by the people, where local government workers will no longer be beggars to the Governors".
He said with the judgement,more democracy dividends would reach grass root, "Caretaker committee Will no longer be impose on local government,but elected officials to administer and make more developmental decisions for their grass root without interference from the state Governors.
He said managing local government funds by democratically elected officials would further bring people more closer to the government with prompt response to peoples needs.
"Federal allocations Will be sent directly to the local Government's, bypassing the state Governments,it's a welcome development,this would bring transparency, accountability and whom to held responsible of embezzlement in the event".
