Don't allow anyone use you in the name of protest- Reps member begs ZAMSSA

A member federal House of Representatives, representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji federal constituency Hon.Aminu Sani Jaji has urged students to be responsible and sound in their reasoning, careful in dealing with issues affecting their well-being, said "please don't allow anyone to use you in the name of protest".

Hon.sani Jaji while speaking on Saturday as guest speaker during public lecture and interactive session organized by the Zamfara State Students Association (ZAMSSA) Ahmadu Bello University Zaria said the planned nationwide protest is not in the interest of the region and nation in general.

"I appreciate this unique and colourful invitation, not just because I am from Zamfara state or passionate about good governance, but because the challenges of today necessitate that everyone aligned themselves with the reality of the problems facing our region. 

"Certainly, the situation is alarming, and our demographic concerns required concerted efforts to address Socio-economic development and security in the region and county at large. We must therefore avoid having an unproductive population, which would lead to the total destruction of the region. Education is the only way to mitigate these challenges". He advised 

"Distinguished invited guests, Ladies and gentlemen, our esteemed  members of the university community, and fellow citizens.Today we embark on a vital conversation about the backbone of our democracy: local government autonomy. As the closest tier of government to the people, local governments hold the key to unlocking grassroots development, economic growth, and improved service delivery".

He said, It is about empowering local communities to take ownership of their development, harness local resources, and address unique local needs.

"By granting local governments autonomy, communities can enjoy these benefits, leading to improved overall well-being and development".

He emphasize the need for students to be good ambassadors of their family, university communication, the society and the country in general, particularly representing their institution of learning, which is now considered as one of profound university in the country.

"Youths participation in governance is a symbol of future tomorrow, bringing about mentorship and Inclusivity. However, subversive agents seek to destroy to destroy your future and ruin our society by recruiting some of you to be irresponsible in your thinking". 

"I urged you to be responsible and sound in your reasoning, careful in dealing with issues affecting our well-being. Some individuals use social media to justify their actions, spreading lies to serve their interest". He said .


" I  want to use this medium to comment on the planned nationwide protest which is not in the best interest of our region and the nation in general. Please don't allow anyone to use you in the name of the protest.


"I acknowledge the hardship being experienced in the country  but our leaders are working round the clock to address it through various interventions. He assured .
