Zamfara : Unity/Reconciliation forum lauds Tinubu over LG autonomy

The All Progressive Congress (APC) unity and reconciliation forum,Zamfara State has have lauded president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the recent supreme Court verdict on financial autonomy of local government.

Speaking in an interview ,the Zamfara State chairman APC unity and reconciliation forum Alhaji Mande Umar said the judgement on local government autonomy is another victory for democracy,which President Tinubu,need to be praised.

According to him, in the state,the verdict would further strengthen more accountability , workers were more comfortable now as state Governors will no longer have the power to dissolve democratically elected Local Government chairman and their councilors.

"Local government councils and their Constituents will be more comfortable with the Nigerian democracy,govern for the people by the people, where local government workers will no longer be redundant ".

"The recent supreme Court Verdict,more democracy dividends would reach grass root, "Caretaker committee Will no longer be impose on local government,but elected officials to administer and make more developmental decisions for their grass root without interference from their state Governors.

Mande Umar further said managing local government funds by democratically elected officials would further bring people more closer to the government with prompt response to peoples needs and aspirations.

"Bypassing the state Governments,it's a welcome development, I'm of the opinion that due process should be followed,in the local government, federal allocation should only be giving to elected chairmen not caretaker committees.
