Kebbi Acting HOS Aisha Usman Assumes Duty

The Kebbi State Government has announced the appointment of Hajiya Aisha Usman as the Acting Head of Civil Service in the state.

The Acting Head of Civil Service,until her appointment, She was the Permanent Secretary ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in the state.

Hajiya Aisha officially assumed duty on Wednesday, following the retirement of Safiyanu Garba Bena, who stepped down after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.

During the handover ceremony at the Cabinet Office in Birnin Kebbi, the outgoing Head of Service expressed his confidence in the smooth transition. 

He explained that the appointment of Hajiya Aisha, as the most senior Permanent Secretary, aligns with civil service rules and was approved by Governor Nasir Idris.

"Today marks the end of my civil service career as I have reached the mandatory retirement age of 60. In line with the laws and regulations, I am handing over the office of the Head of Service to Hajiya Aisha Usman, who will serve in an acting capacity until a substantive appointment is made," Safiyanu said. 

He further extended his gratitude to Governor Idris for the opportunity to serve, and thanked civil servants and media practitioners for their support during his tenure.

In her remarks, the new Acting Head of Service, Hajiya Aisha Usman, expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her. She committed to building upon the legacy of her predecessor and ensuring the continued progress of the civil service.

"I sincerely thank Governor Nasir Idris for finding me worthy of this appointment. Though I have only a few months before my retirement, I am committed to working diligently and respectfully seek the cooperation of all civil servants and the media. I pray for God's guidance and protection for our leaders and continued prosperity for our state and nation," she said.
