Ramadan: Yari's welfare package more wider this year - Committee

The Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar Marafan Sokoto Annual Ramadan Welfare Package is to be perfected with a view to ensuring wider coverage in this year's Ramadan distribution exercise.

In a statement issued by the chairman publicity committee A.A Yari political organization Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji said this year's Ramadan package would be more wider compared to previous years.

The statement reads in parts:"Chairman of the Distribution Committee and head of Senator A A Yari Political Organisation, Hon. Lawal M Liman (Gabɗon Ƙaura) made this known after the committee's meeting with the initiator of the Programme, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar Marafan Sokoto in his Talata Mafara Residence".

"Hon. Lawal M Liman said the meeting was to fine-tune the committee's activities in an attempt to make it more responsive to its responsibilities".

"The Chairman maintained that at the meeting previous exercises conducted by the committee were reviewed, successes and challenges discussed  and  plans were mapped out before the commencement of this year's Ramadan exercise in order to make it more hitch-free".

In his remarks, initiator of the program and Senator Representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar Marafan Sokoto expressed optimism that the transparency, sincerity and dispatch with which the committee conducted the previous exercises if sustained will ensure the attainment of the desired objectives of the program.

World Human rights Day : We records Over 120 abuse, neglect Cases - Zamfara NHRC

From Ahmed Attahir  The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Zamfara state has raised the alarm that over 120 violations of human rights were recorded in 2024 in the state. This was disclosed by the Zamfara state coordinator NHRC Abdullahi Abubakar on Wednesday during the commemoration of 2024 world human rights day in the state.  The coordinator expressed concern over the alarming increase in human rights violations across the state.  "We have recorded over 120 cases of human rights violations so far in 2024, including issues such as abuse, neglect, and the infringement of fundamental freedoms".
