The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has made a technical inspection visit to the o going construction of Gusau International Airport in the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday evening by the information officer Zamfara State Ministry of works and Infrastructure Jamilu Bello said the team had inspected key components of the project, including the runway, terminal building, and control tower.
"The delegation expressed satisfaction following a thorough assessment of the airport’s facilities and infrastructure.
"They commended the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, for the high-quality work delivered at Gusau International Airport.
"During the visit, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Lawal Barau Bungudu, alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Amiru Musa Anka, the Managing Director of the Airport, and others officials of the Ministry, conducted the delegation on a guided tour of the airport.
"The NCAA team noted that the quality of construction and level of compliance with aviation standards reflect the state government’s strong commitment to delivering a modern and safe aviation facility.
"The airport is expected to play a significant role in boosting economic activities and improving connectivity in Zamfara State and the wider region.
"The visit marked the final technical inspection by the NCAA ahead of the airport’s official commissioning. The successful outcome of the inspection underscores the readiness of Gusau International Airport for operational takeoff, pending final regulatory". The statement concluded.
