Green Initiative: COWA plants 100 trees at Kebbi Command.

The Customs Officers Wives Association (COWA) Kebbi State Command Chapter, on Thursday joins its counterparts across Nigeria to plants 1000 trees in their various State Commands.
In Kebbi State Customs Area Command, the occasion was performed by the Chairperson, Mrs Farida Mahmud Matawalle, the wife of the State Area Command in company of fellow Officers Wives.
In her speech at the ceremony, Mrs Matawalle expressed that "we are not just planting trees, we are planting hope, sustainability, and a healthier future for our environment and our nation."
"Across Nigeria, the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA) is undertaking a powerful initiative to plant 1,000 trees here at Kebbi Command, we are proud to contribute by planting 100 trees." She said.
The Chairperson of the Association paid glowing tribute to the National President of the Association as she said, "I would like to specially recognize our able President, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeiniyi, whose leadership and vision continue to drive this impactful initiative across the nation."
"I also wish to express my sincere appreciation to the Comptroller of Kebbi Command for the immense support and cooperation in making this exercise a success, your dedication and encouragement have made today possible, and we are truly grateful." She added.
She added further that, "in line with COWA’s Green Initiative and our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, we are also pleased to support the Command by donating 12 large dustbins, as these will help promote proper waste disposal and recycling, especially for plastic waste."
Additionally, the Association donated watering containers to assist in nurturing the trees planted pointing out that
we must remember that planting a tree is just the beginning, we must nurture and protect them so they can grow and benefit generations to come.
