2027: Atiku wins ADC presidential primaries in Zamfara

The African Democratic Congress (AD), electoral committee on presidential primaries in Zamfara state has declared former vice president Atiku Abubakar winner of the ADC primary election in the state. 

Declaring the ADC presidential primaries results of Zamfara State, on Monday night at the collation center in Gusau, the state capital, the chairman electoral committee Engineer Dr Namadi Musa said the election was peaceful.

"As chief returning officer of ADC in Zamfara State,the results from 14 local government areas indicated that Atiku Abubakar has the highest votes from the primary election conducted and is here by declare the winner of today's presidential primaries election of ADC in the state.

According to him,three ADC presidential aspirants have contested in the primaries namely Former vice president Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Ameachi and Mohammed Hayatuddeen.

While announcing the results from the 14 local government areas, the ADC collation officer for the presidential primaries in Zamfara State, Dr Mikailu Barau disclosed that total of 63,484 votes were accredited and 61,137 votes were casted

"Former vice president Atiku Abubakar scored 60,500 votes, Rotimi Ameachi 191 votes while Mohammed Hayatuddeen scored 446 votes in the state."he declared. 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC ) representative at the ADC primary election Shamsuddeen Musa said the exercise was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere, stressing that INEC is committed to pro ide free ,fair playing ground to all parties.

Court orders Police to investigate criminal case filed by Ex-lawmer in Zamfara

From Ahmed Attahir  A Magistrate Court I sitting in Gusau Zamfara State capital has on Wednesday ordered Commissioner of Police to investigate alleged criminal case filed before the court by a former member House of Assembly, Yusuf Alhasan Kanoma, against Mustafa Jafaru kaura ,media aide to Zamfara Governor. The Presiding Judge Murtala Abdullahi refered the case to the Commissioner of Police for thorough investigation. Earlier, when the case came up ,the state Attorney General and Commissioner for justice Abdulaziz Sani,SAN represented by Director litigation ,prayed to the court for transfer of the case to ministry of justice as empowered by provision 211 of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
