Zamfara APC primaries: Stakeholders lauds Presidential/ State Assembly exercises in Maradun LGA.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Stakeholders and supporters in Maradun local government area of Zamfara State have lauded the massive turnout of APC members during the presidential and state Assembly primaries in the state. 

In a statement issued y an APC stakeholder Ibrahim El-Maradun on Sunday said the conduct of the primaries exercise was commendable.

According to him, APC Stakeholders, members, loyalists and entire party supporters in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara state have shown maturity, the massive turnout of party supporters at the presidential and state assembly primaries in maradun LGAS was laudable. 

The statement reads in parts:"The unprecedented crowds of party supporters and loyalists demonstrated that the Hon Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, enjoys strong grassroots support and has played a unifying role for the APC across Zamfara State.

"The group while expressing their appreciation for the large turnout of party members and supporters at the exercise, describe it as a reflection of strong support of the people to Hon minister of State for Defence Dr Bello Matawalle in the local Government and Zamfara state in general.

"However, the group who were mainly critical APC stakeholders expressed concerned about attempts to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the primaries in the area earlier today. 

 "The Stakeholders alleged that former Governor Abdul’aziz Yari and his associates sought to undermine the process not only in Zamfara but also in Kano and Bauchi states.

"The group further alleged that these actions created tension involving Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President, and in Bauchi state where Senator Buba was allegedly used to disrupt the process. 

"There are also claims that the former Governor of Zamfara state AbdulazizYari is considering aligning with opposition parties and has promised financial support ahead of the general elections.

"The group lamented that some disgruntled individuals allegedly loyal to former Governor Yari hired some local vigilante group and criminal elements to create havoc and disrupt the election process in both Maradun one and Maradun two state Assembly constituencies. 

This actions of alleged Yari's loyalistsi was totally undemocratic and could result in bringing chaos,thereby disrupting the peaceful atmosphere of 2027 politicking in the state.

Court orders Police to investigate criminal case filed by Ex-lawmer in Zamfara

From Ahmed Attahir  A Magistrate Court I sitting in Gusau Zamfara State capital has on Wednesday ordered Commissioner of Police to investigate alleged criminal case filed before the court by a former member House of Assembly, Yusuf Alhasan Kanoma, against Mustafa Jafaru kaura ,media aide to Zamfara Governor. The Presiding Judge Murtala Abdullahi refered the case to the Commissioner of Police for thorough investigation. Earlier, when the case came up ,the state Attorney General and Commissioner for justice Abdulaziz Sani,SAN represented by Director litigation ,prayed to the court for transfer of the case to ministry of justice as empowered by provision 211 of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
