Zamfara North: Senator seat not inheritance - Dr Shinkafi

A Chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) and Senatorial aspirant in Zamfara State Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has vowed not to step down for any aspirant,saying direct primaries best option for the development of democracy.

Dr sani Shinkafi in a Radio phone in program on Thursday night wellcome APC direct primaries for aspirants, said its a way of allowing constituents to chose their representative.

According to him,his aspiring for Zamfara north Senator was not wish but wish of his constituents, who believed it is time for a credible and people oriented representation.

"I was called to serve by my constituents from Shinkafi, Zurmi, Birnin Magaji and kaura Namoda Local Government Areas that constitute Zamfara North senatorial zone ".

Dr sani Abdullahi Wanban Shinkafi was a former national secretary of APGA and zamfara state Governortorial candidate who contested for 16 years and later joined APC in 2021 in the state. 

He lamented the political in equation of Shinkafi ,stressing that Shinkafi local government was sidelined in terms of ministerial appointment since the return of democracy.

He further revealed that for 28years only kaura Namoda Local government had been producing Senator in the zone while the three local government areas of Shinkafi, Zurmi and Birnin Magaji were not given the chance to produce even once.

"The Senator seat in zamfara north is not inheritance attached only kaura Namoda can produce it, the entire three local government in the zone has also the mandate to produce Senator".

Dr. Shinkafi highlighted that the two zones in zamfara, central and west have even distribution of Senator seat and other political positions since the return of democracy, unlike Northern zone where for 28years only one local government take the seat.

"Let me say it,my political journey was to develop not to whichunt, God is my guide in this political journey, I stand by my words not to step down for any aspirant until we go into direct primaries". He vowed.

"I welcome the direct primaries of our great party APC and it's the best option ,best for the development of democracy.

"I urge the electorate to chose a candidate that has people at heart, a true servant to the people. " He concluded

Court orders Police to investigate criminal case filed by Ex-lawmer in Zamfara

From Ahmed Attahir  A Magistrate Court I sitting in Gusau Zamfara State capital has on Wednesday ordered Commissioner of Police to investigate alleged criminal case filed before the court by a former member House of Assembly, Yusuf Alhasan Kanoma, against Mustafa Jafaru kaura ,media aide to Zamfara Governor. The Presiding Judge Murtala Abdullahi refered the case to the Commissioner of Police for thorough investigation. Earlier, when the case came up ,the state Attorney General and Commissioner for justice Abdulaziz Sani,SAN represented by Director litigation ,prayed to the court for transfer of the case to ministry of justice as empowered by provision 211 of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
