2026 World Humanitarian Day: Zamfara spend N7.3b support,assistance

The Zamfara State government through Ministry of Humanitarian and Relief Matters has spend over N7.3billion on support and assistance, saying Zamfara state harbours over 290,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.
This was disclosed on Wednesday by the Commissioner Ministry of Humanitarian and Relief Matters Hon. Salisu Musa Tsafe during the Commemoration of 2026 world Humanitarian Day in the state.
The commissioner who was represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary Hajiya Ummulkhairi Abubakar sympathise with the communities affected by natural and man made crises and disasters in the state.
"The World Humanitarian Day is dedicated worldwide to appreciate the dedication, commitments and sacrifices made by Humanitarian Actors across the globe.
"The Humanitarian workers risk their lives to access vulnerable groups and communities who are affected by crises and disasters.
She revealed that many Humanitarian workers have lost their lives in the process of providing Humanitarian assistance, some got injured in the process and some were kidnapped.
"On this day, we sympathize with the resilience of the affected population, we also recognize the courage and patience of the population and communities affected by disasters, especially the IDPs who flee their homes and communities as a result of banditry attacks". She stated
According to her, due to the evolving Humanitarian crises experienced across the 14 Local Government Areas, "Zamfara state harbours over 290,000 IDPs in Camps likes and the host communities across the state".
She appreciated all the Humanitarian partners for their unwavering support and assistance they provide to the IDPs and vulnerable communities in the State.
"All your effort aligns with the present Govt's priorities and Governor Dauda Lawal's rescue mission to provide durable solutions to vulnerable population and communities in the State.
"In tne past three years through partnership and collaborations with relevant Government Ministries and Agencies, INGOs and NGOs the state government through the Office of Ministry of Humanitarian and Relief Matters has provided Humanitarian support and assistance of over Seven Billion, Three Hundred and Thirty Million Naira for the provision and distribution of Food items, Building materials, Powered Solar Boreholes,Livelihoods and Empowerment Support". She disclosed.
