Zamfara NLC mourns Secretary General death, says it's painful demise.


The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Zamfara State Council,has mourned the death of Comrade Emmanuel Ogbuaja, General Secretary of the NLC, described it as a painful demise,saying NLC lost a committed leader.

In a statement issued on saturday evening signed by Comrade Sani Haliruand Comrade Ahmed Abubakar Zamfara state chairman and acting secretary respectively in the state. 

The statement reads in parts:"NLC Zamfara State express its deepest condolences to the National Leadership, the entire NLC family, and the immediate family of over this painful demise.

"Comrade Emmanuel Ogbuaja was a committed labour leader who dedicated his life to the promotion and protection of workers’ rights and the advancement of the labour movement.

"His death is a great loss to the NLC, the Nigerian working class, and the nation at large. We pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest and gives his family, colleagues, and the entire labour movement the strength to bear this irreparable loss". The statement concluded.

Court orders Police to investigate criminal case filed by Ex-lawmer in Zamfara

From Ahmed Attahir  A Magistrate Court I sitting in Gusau Zamfara State capital has on Wednesday ordered Commissioner of Police to investigate alleged criminal case filed before the court by a former member House of Assembly, Yusuf Alhasan Kanoma, against Mustafa Jafaru kaura ,media aide to Zamfara Governor. The Presiding Judge Murtala Abdullahi refered the case to the Commissioner of Police for thorough investigation. Earlier, when the case came up ,the state Attorney General and Commissioner for justice Abdulaziz Sani,SAN represented by Director litigation ,prayed to the court for transfer of the case to ministry of justice as empowered by provision 211 of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
