He said the turnout could not be unconnected with the intensive enlightenment and sensitization campaign carried out by the state government Committee headed by the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly Rt.Hon.Nasiru Muazu Magarya. Hitherto, the intervention of the APC national Leadership, which gave birth to the reconciliation of the scattered APC in the state. Cholera Eradication: ZMSG, UNICEF target Over 100 High risk communities

    By Ahmed Attahir  The Zamfara State Agency for Rural Water and Sanitation (RUWATSAN) is partnering with United Nation's Children Fund (UNICEF) on cholera eradication in the state. It was gathered that over 100 communities were targeted for the prevention and eradication of the cholera in the high risk community during the project.  The Programme Manager, RUWATSAN, Alhaji Sani Yaro Gurbinbore disclosed this in a Chat with Zamfara WASH Journalists Forum in Gusau on Friday. Gurbinbore said based on the outcome of 2021 cholera outbreak in the country, the Unicef is facilitating 10 months cholera eradication project in Sokoto and Zamfara states. The turbaning generated serious concern within and outside the state over what was viewed as a recognition of banditry in the state.   By Ahmed Attahir  The Zamfara State government has embarked on state wide sensitization tour to all residents communities for a peaceful co-existance in the state.  The Special Adviser Directorate of Inter-Community Relations  Hon. Aliyu Suleman Dansadau who lead the tour disclosed that all Resident Communities across the Emirates would be fully sensitize on leaving in peace with one another in the state.  The Special Adviser revealed that Emirate Councils so far visited included Anka, Talata Mafara, Kaura Namoda and Tsafe area in the state.  Speaking while interfacing with resident communities Aliyu Suleman Dansadau said the decision to initiate the tour was to re-intimate them on the existence of the Directorate and to sensitize them on peaceful coexistence.   By Umar Maradun  Zamfara state has been in political crises since the time the second civilian Governor of the state, Alhaji Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi (Dallatun Shinkafi) defected to PDP as a result of squabble between him and his predecessor, Alhaji Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura.  Since that time to date, the state has never enjoyed political peace as a result of cross carpeting from one party to another by politicians whose preoccupation is not for the progress of the state but for selfish reasons. In 2008, a year after, Governor Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi of the defunct ANPP abandoned his political party, the defunct ANPP and joined the then ruling party the PDP of late President, Umar Musa Yar’adua in 2008. By Ahmed Attahir  A Philanthropist in Zamfara state,Alhaji Rabiu Suleman has renovated Nahuce primary Health care with N2.7m as part of his social responsibility to the community in the state.  Alhaji Rabi’u Suleman Nahuce of Bungudu local government area of Zamfara State has singlehandedly renovated the primary health with facilities.  "The sum of two Million Seven Hundred and Forty Thousand naira (2,740,000) were expended on the project by the philanthropist". The philanthropist has repaired and painted facility structure, renovated male and female wards, mosque, administrative block, maternity ward and labour room. Other renovation carried out were provision of mattresses and bedsheets,renovation of theater and laboratory sections as well as provision of solar battery to the PHC. Governor Matawalle also called for enhancement of security agencies training for effective utilisation. Governor Matawalle made the call in Maradun while receiving a group of Coalition of civil society organizations who were there to express their support to the policies and programmes in fighting banditry. The Zamfara State Primary Health Care Board in conjunction with state ministry of Health and partners have performed this year's Bi-annual Healthy Baby Show with sensitization on viral hepatitis B prevention in the state.  Also,award was presented to the best children who was fully immunized within nine months of birth and observed exclusive breast feeding in the state.  The event was held at the Dr. Karima Women and Children Welfare Hospital Tudun Wada in Gusau,state capital.  Speaking during the occasion, the commissioner for health Aliyu Abubakar MC said Healthy Baby show is been organized bi-annually to present awards to children who received complete doses of the required immunizations and observed exclusive breast feeding.  Aliyu M.C who was represented by the Executive Secretary zamfara State Primary Health Care Board Dr. Isma'il Tukur said the present administration was determined to bring health care services to the door steps of the citizens.  "
