ZAHA Moves to Amend Hisbah Commission other laws to Conform with New trend.

The Zamfara State House of Assembly has embarked on amendments of some existing laws to conform with the new trend in the state.
In a press release issued by the Director General press affairs and Public relations to the state House of Assembly Mallam Nasiru Usman Biyabiki said bills to be amended include Hisbah commission, law reform commission and Area Development Council laws in the state.
According to the released, an executive bill for a law to amend Zamfara State HISBAH Commission establishment law number 17 of 2003 and a bill for a law to amend Zamfara State Law Reform Commission Law number 19 of 2003 have scaled the first reading for amendment.
Presenting the request for the amendment before the house, Leader of the house,Hon. Faruku Musa Dosara called on his colleagues to receive the bills, look into and consider the proposed amendments for the laws to become people-oriented for the betterment of the entire society.
After secondment of the motions by Hon. Kabiru Hashimu Dansadau and Hon. Sani Dahiru Adafka, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Muázu Magarya has directed the Clerk of the House Shehu Saídu Anka to read the bills for the first time and it was done accordingly.
Hon. Faruku Musa Dosara also presented a request for the amendment of a private bill for a law to amend the Zamfara State Area Development Councils Establishment law number 27 of 2003.
While directing the Clerk of the house to read the bill for the first time, the Speaker, Nasiru Muázu Magarya stressed the need for the house to review the state existing laws for possible amendment so as to conform with the trend of time.
Now the three bills presented before the house by the leader,Faruku Musa Dosara have been accepted and scaled the first reading waiting for further legislative processes.
Earlier on,during the plenary, the house has also directed the Zamfara State Urban and Regional Planning Board, ZUREP, to look into the legality of basing the State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s office closed to the main road and amidst public institutions.
The directive was pursuant to a concern under matters of urgent public importance raised by Hon. Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma who called on the house members to consider the issue raised as part of the public concern.
Members who supported the motion said some public institutions like State School of Nursing and Midwifery Gusau, Ministry of Finance and Government Girls Day Secondary School Samaru may be threatened by the activities of the office in question,hence the need to relocate it to a safer place.
In a related Development, the house has directed the committee on health and human medicine to follow-up with the house resolution on the need to upgrade Kwatarkwashi Primary Health Care Centre,PHC,to General Hospital.
This followed a motion moved by Hon. Kabiru Magaji Kwatarkwashi who appealed to the members to agree and pass a resolution seeking the state government to as a matter of urgency upgrade Kwatarkwashi PHC to general hospital considering the increase in population.
The Deputy Speaker,Hon. Musa Bawa Musa Yankuzo, Hon. Zaharadden M. Sada, Hon. Nasiru Lawal Bungudu and Hon. Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma have Supported the motion and called on the committee saddled with the responsibility to hasten the discharge of the task and bring back the report to the plenary for further discussion.
