The step down training was held on Tuesday at Karma Hotel in Gusau, Zamfara state capital as a follow-up to an earlier training organized by Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) for technical staff in the ACReSAL Project in the state. The 8 agrieved members are challenging the breach of their constitutional rights to liberty, human dignity, fair hearing and taking possession of their property without due process. The case was filed against seven respondents that included Zamfara state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, the Speaker State House of Assembly, Clerk of the house,the Commissioner of Police and the Department of State security Services (DSS) in the state. Ahmed Attahir The Academic Staff of the Federal College of Education Technical (FCET) Gusau in Zamfara state have embarked on an indefinite strike, called for the immediate removal of the college Provost Mrs Hauwa’u Gimbiya Mukhtar Abdulkarim in the state. In a statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday and signed by the chairman of the Academic Staff Union of the College, Dr. Abdullahi Muhammad said the Provost was not qualified for the position and must resign before they could return to their work.
