Zamfara Youths Protest at High Court over Vehicles Auction.

From our reporter  Over two thousand (2000) youths have barricaded the entrance gate of High court 11 in Gusau,protesting the planned auction of Zamfara State government vehicles in the state.  The peaceful protest has started as early as 8.30am on Friday with youths carrying cards displaying their disagreed auctioning of government vehicles in the state.  Spokespersons for the youths  Comrade Aminu Atiku and comrade Usman Salihu both lamented how state government vehicles would be auction instead of resolving issues amicably. According to them, as youths they would continue to protest any attempt to auction government properties in the state. "As youths we are protesting this plan to auction government vehicles,because at the end,we (youths) would be the one at lost as leaders of tomorrow ". ZAHA Moves to Amend Hisbah Commission other laws to Conform with New trend.

From  Bash Maishanu  The Zamfara State House of Assembly has embarked on amendments of some existing laws to conform with the new trend in the state.  In a press release issued by the Director General press affairs and Public relations to the state House of Assembly Mallam Nasiru Usman Biyabiki said bills to be amended include Hisbah commission, law reform commission and Area Development Council laws in the state.  According to the released, an executive bill for a law to amend Zamfara State HISBAH Commission establishment law number 17 of 2003 and a bill for a law to amend Zamfara State Law Reform Commission Law number 19 of 2003 have scaled the first reading for amendment. Presenting the request for the amendment before the house, Leader of the house,Hon. Faruku Musa Dosara called on his colleagues to receive the bills, look into and consider the proposed amendments for the laws to become people-oriented for the betterment of the entire society. N/W Health indices 2021: Zamfara least on neonatal, under 5 Mortality rate --- Survey

By Ahmed Attahir  The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey on health has released data indices with Zamfara State rated as least in neonatal and under-five mortality rate in the North West zone,despite insecurity in the state.  In a data released for 2021,the indices has indicated that Zamfara has recorded positive strides on health in the state.  The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) is designed to collect statistically robust and internationally comparable estimates of key indicators that are used to assess the situation of children and women in the areas of health, education and child protections. The survey indicated that Zamfara has 31 neonatal mortality rate per one thousand live births which is the highest performing State across the North West zone. Also, under five mortality rate, Zamfara State has experienced 136 death per 1000 live birth (0 to 5 years) putting it second performing State, after Kaduna that top the survey. Food security: 2000 farmers to benefit from Fertiliser on cash and carry in Zamfara.

  From Ahmed Attahir  The Zamfara State government has launched the sales of fertiliser to over 2000 farmers on cash and carry in the state.  Speaking at the formal flagged up on Tuesday evening at the headquarters of Zamfara State Comprehensive Agriculture Revolution Programme (ZACAREP) in Gusau, Governor Bello Matawalle said other farm inputs were also procured for farmers in the state.  According to him,the fertiliser was careful procured to meet with the aspirations of farmers for a result oriented. He explained that over three thousand tones of fertiliser had been procured to be distributed to over 2000 farmers at subsidised rate to boost food security in the state.  Earlier on,the special adviser to the Governor on ZACAREP Alhaji Yusuf Jafaru Rawayya said the fertiliser would be sold to farmers at subsidised rate of N15,000 per bag. He maintained that this year sales of fertiliser came with a different as farmers would access the commodity on cash and carry basis.

  From our reporter    The  residents Community of Kadaru village under Galadima ward in Gusau local government council of Zamfara State has raised alarm on looming crisis between farmers/herders over encroachment of Government Delineated Public Grazing Reserve.   This was contained in two different petitions to the Security Adviser to the Governor and State Director Security Service through solicitors, Nafi'u Hamza ESQ and Lasco Pwahomdi Miwa ESQ of Pearls and Falls Law Firm and P.M. Over 100 Health personnel receives induction training in Zamfara.

Permanent Secretary Zamfara State Ministry of Health Aliyu Mohammed Maikiyo From our reporter  The Zamfara State government has organised induction training for over One Hundred newly recruited health personnel of the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau. The newly recruited staffs were trained on basic Civil Service ethics and guidelines and their expectations in the hospital as they relate to patients. Addressing the participants of the training on Thursday, the state Commissioner for health represented by the Permanent Secretary Pharm. Aliyu Muhammad Maikiyo charged recruited personnel to be diligent in their duties. According to him the training was a rare privilege taking into cognisance that many were recruited in the past but could not receive such training and called on other health institutions, parastatals and agencies to see the development as a challenge for them to emulate.
